The vision of London 2012 is to use the power of the Games to inspire lasting change.
Part of that vision is inspiring lasting change in London’s communities, particularly in the east of the capital where much of the Games is being held. Getting people into work – some of whom might have been unemployed for a long time or may have never had a job before – is a key element of the area’s regeneration.
For this reason, a programme has been designed to help unemployed people who live near to the Olympic Park in Stratford find a London 2012 job.
Many of these roles will be with London 2012 Contractors and they will be in one of five areas:
There are dedicated contact points in each of the six east London Host Boroughs to help unemployed local people access London 2012 work opportunities, and to find out about training programmes:
For residents in Tower Hamlets there is also a drop in centre at the Skillsmatch Heron Quays office. Our opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday- Friday. Please bring an up-to-date CV and ID.
If you’re unemployed, live outside the six east London Host Boroughs and want more information on London 2012 job opportunities, call 0845 155 2012.
If you live in London and you are not in work or full time education and not receiving JSA, you can get support to find work on the Games. Visit http://www.seetec.co.uk/jobseekers/2012_jobs.aspx for more details.
