Becoming an RCC Member

Swan is looking for more Residents to become Members of the Resident Consultative Committees (RCCs) in London and Essex to help us to scrutinise and improve our services. The RCCs provide a consultative and negotiating body between Swan and its residents on housing management issues.

Becoming an RCC Member can be beneficial for both you and Swan. Members are involved in decisions that affect Swan homes and neighbourhoods, whilst building their own skills and accessing free training and personal development opportunities. The confidence, additional skills and experience gained by being involved in this way can improve your future employment prospects and provide you with the knowledge to make a real difference in your community.

Expenses involved in attending meetings, including travel and childcare costs, are reimbursed by Swan. This is because we recognise that there can be financial barriers to attending regular meetings. We value the input of our residents and want to support people to get involved.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community. We would particularly like to encourage people from younger age groups and ethnic minority backgrounds to express their interest as these groups are currently under-represented within the RCCs.

If you would like more information about joining the RCCs in Essex or London then please contact the Resident Involvement and Community Development Team on Tel: 01277 844242 or send an email to involvement@swan.org.uk
